The NBS TV Station in Uganda started broadcasting Music and the Spoken Word every Sunday morning from 7:30am to 8:00am on the 18th November 2012. Music and the Spoken word is a program developed for broadcasters by Bonneville International Corporation which is an entity of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The program features inspiring messages and performances by the world renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir's first network radio program (with the organ, choir, and announcer sharing a single microphone) was transmitted on July 15, 1929. Today, after more than 80 years and over 4,100 broadcasts, Music and the Spoken Word is the oldest continuous nationwide broadcast in America.
The National Association of Broadcasters of the United States of America gave recognition by honoring the program in 2004, on its 75th anniversary with the Radio Hall of Fame, becoming the second only such radio program to receive such an award.
Broadcasters all over the world can directly go to the Music and the Spoken Word website and enlist to air the produced programs free of charge.
Having these programs in Uganda will help the Church be better known and is a major relation building success with the media and public in Africa.
This broadcast is also available in Kenya, Tanzania and other neigbouring countries on channel 23 of Zuku, a satelite service provider that carries the stream for NBS TV. Music and the Spoken Word is also available on YouTube.
