Kampala South Stake Missionary Training Conference

Missionary training held in kampala

Members of the Kampala South Stake of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered on Saturday 24 February 2018 for trainings on topics such as—better member Missionary work, Retention of Converts and Reactivation of less actives.

President Francis Kikambi first councilor in the stake presidency presided over the conference.  More than 50 ward missionaries from the seven units of the stake were in attendance. President Kikambi opened the discussion with a reminder that engaging in member missionary work is one way of supporting The Prophet’s call for every member to be a missionary.

Members were encouraged to open their mouths and speak to every person everywhere, anywhere. Brother Tonny Lwere the Stake high councilman in charge of Missionary work emphasized that through talking to others, members will be able to gain confidence and doing it the Lord’s way. One participant encouraged that they could start with immediate family members, friends and neighbors.

After the discussion participants moved to the chapel grounds and participated in team building activities and games such as egg-tossing. It was necessary to protect their egg from breaking. Many participants expected it to be an easy game but later realized that they needed more planning, unity and courage. Some lost their self-assurance as they began without proper preparation the egg would be broken.

The analogy of this game was to help members understand that even though they are not called as full-time missionaries, member missionary work needs planning, unity and courage.
