AN APOSTLE URGES MEMBERS TO MINISTER TO ONE ANOTHER

Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles speaks to saints in Uganda.

 

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been tasked to reach everyone. While making the call, an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Gary E Stevenson said this during a visit to Uganda in a meeting with members of the fast-growing church over the weekend.

“Am grateful to share with you the membership in the church and we often talk about saints in Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia as well as Kenya” Elder Stevenson said.

        

He also added that thee Lord is yearning to see his children back to the fold and this is something He rejoices in.

Elder Stevenson in his presentation; A new balance between gospel instruction in the home and the church urged members to look out for one another with love so that the afflicted and the needy can feel their passion and return back to the church. Adding that the lost ones are waiting for them to reach out to them without being judged but are lonely and in need of their comfort and kindness.

Elder Stevenson also noted that parents need to embrace gospel learning in their homes for the children to appreciate the opportunity. “Be more home centered. Think of your family because our children live in a changing world and they need the gospel everyday and this is the reason for the home centered gospel teaching”. He said.

      

He emphasized the need for the saints to embrace the ministering principle because it’s the only way to bond together and show that we are for each other’s welfare.

The objective of this historic visit was to fulfill the divinely appointed mandate of discipleship of Jesus Christ to declare His word among His people, that they might have everlasting life. The apostle’s message was centered on love, unity, service, charity and kindness as he shared wit the people of Uganda the hope and peace that comes through a life of true devotion to Go
